Dear Friends,
As I carefully watch and listen to the debates of the day with regard to political party and which candidate is right for the Presidency, I cringe. Neither a man, nor parties are the leaders of this nation. The people are the appointed and true leaders and the elected are the representatives for us.
For FAR too long, we have shirked, ignored and avoided our responsibility in leading this nation. Praise God that there are differences of opinion! Praise God that we have people who have different skills, abilities and ways of getting things done! That is part of the glory that is America. BUT, my dear American friends, WE are the leaders. Absent of our vigilant voice of oversight, the avarice of man will become drunk with the power of unbridled action and will certainly end in destruction.
Please find no comfort or complacency in a candidate just because they are of a party. I know it is becoming distasteful to some “progressives” who look only at the present and “forward”, but only an ignorant, arrogant and conceited fool would so boldly blaze a path while actively rejecting the maps and guidance of the past. I am so harsh because if you wish to run blindly and fall off a cliff ALL BY YOURSELF, then charge forward!! However, you want to take me with you and I say no! That is where your rights end. The child that is still the American nation and its radical concept of governance still needs care and protecting and a caring set of 300 million parents. If you believe it is important to research things for your own children, then that sage choice will certainly be good for our young nation. So I beg you to look for wisdom of the many, many guides of the human past as well as the most ancient, God, to provide the higher success probability for our steps forward.
Far too many believe that the act of voting is the important aspect of the right of being a citizen. My friends, marking and casting that ballot isn’t the important part. The responsibility that is the inseparable twin to the casting of a ballot is the heartbeat of that particular right of the citizen. That responsibility should be an arduous, unpleasant, uncomfortable and contentious task of vetting the candidate. The process of choosing the best path for all is the critically important part. A vote with no personal knowledge and understanding of the foundation for that vote is treason. That certainly is the case if your vote is made for the “a, me rica” selfishness rather than for all of the future generations of America.
With that, I will close by offering some wisdom from the 1600’s. Rene Descartes exemplified the notion to question everything that is or is believed to be. Only in that pursuit are we able to get close to reality and truth. Certainly, that is still wise to do in our day and age. I implore you not to rest in what you hear from a glowing box called the TV, or from the community organizers or even family and friends. Chances are great that the people and organizations have a significant vested interest in luring you in to act as they wish. You have a job to do and a responsibility to keep that promises made in blood by our forefathers so many years ago.
