June 24, 2010 — Letter to Mr. Beck

June 24, 2010

Mr. Beck,

In college, I took a few classes that described learning  and attempted to mold a definition for it. The only take-home from those classes  was that everything is skewed unless you were a witness to an event and wholly  engaged to receive all perceptible information. Even then, that information will  be immediately filtered through your knowledge and experiences. I studied eye-witness testimony and its  validity statistics. Here is a quick test-at-home example. Get a few people  together that you know, trust and communicate well with. You, as the moderator  of the exercise, will say one word that is uniformly familiar to all. I like to  use the word “vacation”. (common phrases work too) Ask the group to sit quietly  until asked to comment or even move. Say the word or phrase you have chosen and  wait a few seconds. Ask them to write a description of the word and a belief or  experience related to it. The papers you receive will have vastly different  information.

I have many issues with many things, but mostly I take  issue with the purposeful omission of education that would encourage thought.  Grade schools are afraid to teach kids how to think for themselves because the  students might find out how full of crap most of the faculty is. Image building  people have no business in education. Parents hide information from their kids  because they are afraid that their image may be soiled by disclosing the poor  choices they made. Hell, they make crap up because they are often ignorant and  too lazy to find out. Bosses and leaders of all types hide information because  they are afraid of the same thing. Best interest of the country? People should  stop lying. They should also stop repeating information as fact when is probably  filtered through 800 other people. Ever play telephone???? Another component to  your “teaching” should be the inclusion and education in critical thinking.

Fear of being judged has been a major component in building  the disaster train we are riding that is steaming forward to a place with no  tracks. Housing crisis? People wanted to be like the Jones’s and others enabled  for personal gain. Economy slow? Yeah, maybe we aren’t buying refrigerators  because the credit is maxed and there is no cash. I am extremely happy that the  credit market is tight. American consumers need to be taught a hard lesson about  living beyond your means. You want to know what my founding father taught me??  Dad was born in 1914 (or so, haven’t seen the proof!) He lived a life of truth,  honor, courage, dignity, humility and compassion. All of those lessons were at  the core of my rebellion. Only now am I finding out how correct he was. Dad  wouldn’t have bought an item unless it was NEEDED. New car? Hell no. Not until  the old one died. He would say aloud, “I don’t have anyone to impress.”

Insecurity drives some really bad choices and behavior.  Call it what you choose, but when forced into listing what is needed to be happy  a healthy person will only have a list of a very few things. Family is common as  well as having a productive purpose in life too. When I do this exercise with  the kids I work with the immediate list is an echo of the society and cultures  that have taught them. Shoes? X-Box?? Money and more money and even more money  is needed. Gangs, drugs and materials  are all attempts to be happy or cover things up when you aren’t. When did these  items surpass comforts to head the list of needs? It happened when greed  surpassed the best of our morals and values. It happened when people decided  that power and money was critical and the survival of the nation was something  to worry about later. I love the phrase “short term pleasure, long-term  consequence) Later is now…

People complain about jobs going to China. They shop at the  price breaker stores. Take some random samples of the merchandise in these (and  so many other) stores and where it is made. People worry about the environment  and then throw away the cheap crap they bought at the price breaker stores while  they drive the car to the price breaker stores to get more. People complain  about working long hours. Then get off and try to enjoy the fruits of the  lifestyle they couldn’t possibly support. People complain about who is running  the country, but no one took the time to find facts, because those TV ads must be true. Some people complain about things are going only to get-off on the  verbal masturbation as to cover the misery of their pathetic lives they built  and continue to build.

Our courts have watered down justice. Suing is now a bona  fide method for getting income. Our schools have given up on real education. The  bar is so low that everyone will pass. Didn’t pay your taxes? NO PROBLEM, we can  negotiate a settlement so the other guy has to carry the load!!! (pissed at you  for supporting this with a commercial ((AND Fox for running the ambulance  chasing lawyer and tax dodge ads)). Every kid is a winner on the team.  Everything is abuse, so PLEASE DON’T EVEN consider introducing discipline. Poor  work performance? Hell no! I was discriminated against! OMG, what did you  say???? That hurt my pitiful little feelings and you must apologize and maybe  even give me some money because by golly those like me comprise a whole ½ of one  percent of the population and we will dictate our beliefs to the masses or they  will pay too!

The generations that have lived and learned these lessons  are increasing in their number and have trickled (now flowing) into positions of  authority and power. Don’t EVER ask the question about why things are messed up.  WE CREATED this! It did not fall out of the sky yesterday.

Unfortunately some people choose to misuse the “ignorant  masses” for their own gain. Another one of the problems with letting lawyers run  things is that they know all they have to do is create doubt in the mind of the  jury. You want conspiracy? If you make enough commotion with the left hand, the  audience will completely miss the right hand slowly pulling out the knife…

There is a video out there of another exercise that  demonstrated this. Please use your search engine of choice to find the  psychological “experiment” that uses a gorilla and people passing a basketball  around. DO NOT TELL anyone about it. Find the video and do the exercise with  your folks. PLEASE, this will give you another platform to teach. Companies,  powerbrokers, politicians and the like know how to work people. Only when you  teach the audience the magicians trick will the magic go away. I will argue that  some folks won’t want to see because they are comfortable with the illusion.

People are ignorant and have been allowed to be that way  for a long time. Truth is really nonexistent. At best we have firsthand accounts  of events. People do not change until they are more uncomfortable than the  behaviors they have been addicted to. If there are no perceived consequences or  the consequences are not great enough then almost all people will continue to  make the cost-benefit analysis of continued previous path for their lives.

Here is how to shut people up. Ask them to prove their  loquacious logorrhea. Still have them  bitching? Ask them what they have done to change things for the better and how  their lives are an honest model for other to emulate.

I have spent about  16 years “fixing” the jacked up lives of the kids that our society has created.  That is my contribution to our nation. Now, I have been unemployed for a year  because the economy won’t support jobs like mine. Feels good to fix the kids  that society messes up and then be denied work while the liars, cheats and  thieves prop up the bastards that mostly perpetrated the crimes that led us to  this point.

There is so much “noise” that the soft music of common sense, love, truth, justice, honor and  others like them have the same chance of being  heard as a cricket chirp in a stampede. ONLY if you are close to the cricket and  listening closely will you hear it. People are not listening and they are not  close to faith hope and charity? No Mr. Beck, those concepts are outdated.  People want easy, immediate and comfortable. If they mattered to the majority of  people then I would not be writing this letter to you.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Grier

PS – If you know of  a company that wants a world changer, problem solver and all around good guy,  then please send them my way. I still need a job…

January 12, 2011 — Letter to Mr. Beck

January 12, 2011

Glenn,

The government is out of touch and I bet that I will be the one who is accused instead.

I do not enjoy the benefits that they (our government) seem to heap upon themselves and continually seek to do so. Where is my wall of protection from the potential bad “guys”?  Where are my free healthcare benefits? Where are my perks? Where is my endless spending without consequences? Who do these people think they are? Oh yeah, they think they are the untouchable pop-stars we have made them into.

Again and again (and again) the stage actors perform for their audiences. The audience claps or boos depending on their mood and approval of the performance. Our government is nothing more than a stage filled with actors and their performances should come with the warning label, “For entertainment purposes only”. It is a shame that they don’t take the time to learn their lines anymore. It is really sad when “we” listen to a heartfelt speech regarding a massacre or tragedy and the speaker is reading from cue cards or notes or teleprompter. When I speak, I do not use cards or teleprompters. I know what I am saying and what I want to say. I don’t waste a lot of time choosing the best fit word to ensure audience approval.

I hope to be one of the people who fight the good fight and make the necessary changes to our broken system. I pray that God will give me the opportunity to lead and mentor and fix those things that desperately need it. One thing that has followed me since childhood is an ability to “see” into the future. I am not crazy and I am not talking about crystal balls or the like. I am talking about the vision to see the results of a current path of decisions and choices with predicted consequences. I am unfortunately accurate more about the negative things.

I wrote all of that to write this; we are headed for a revolution. Soon, the lawful will join the lawless and deal in anarchy. The ever growing questions I hear are: “Why should I work and contribute when others don’t by choice?” “Why should I follow rules and laws when others don’t?” “Why should I remain polite and respectful when others don’t?”

I say this to our “leaders” Make some more gun laws. While we are at it, make it illegal to use and sell marijuana or cocaine. Make some more excuses and taxes. Make a few more performances for the ignorant masses. Continue to tear down the institutions like church and the military as they will only get in your way. Disable the police forces. Keep the States slaves with your federal funding and influence. A few of us don’t care what you do anymore and we are not entertained.

There is no reason now to have violence or kill people because of a belief or poor decisions in their workplace. However, the day is coming that collectively those beliefs and poor decisions (greed, stupidity, power, corruption, etc.) will ignite purposeful revolutionary violence. Before you stop reading or call me a “nut-job”, I must remind you that our country was born out of the lack of representation similar to today that resulted in request and pleas ad nauseam to no avail. The resulting violence against tyranny then is now marked with celebration on the 4th of July.

Without an effective say in what happens to the country I live in and pay for, what is my motivation to continue feeding the beast? Why should I allow the beast to get strong and forgetful of who is the master?

Here are my predictions:

Schools will become systems to create young that are ignorant and filled with propaganda

Elections will be facades driven by money and media

Churches will be silenced and eventually driven into obscurity (all potential threats will)

The military will be dismantled

Lawlessness prevails

We will become a target of sovereign nations (China axis probably)

We will lose the attack from the Axis because our citizens will be cognitively (and otherwise) defenseless to mount any real resistance.

Again, I pray EVERY DAY that God gives me the opportunity to be the leader and changer of chosen destiny for the United States of America. I hope and wish and pray that God will be merciful and allow us to correct our stupidity before am right again with predictions. However, I fear that I will be correct in my predictions and am preparing to defend and protect my family.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Grier

May 9, 2011 — Boris, Et Al

May 9, 2011

Boris, et al:

Here are a few thoughts:

1st – If we wait until the 2012 election season to get active again, then we are certain to lose. GOTV efforts should have started this month.

2nd – Justice was appropriately delivered to UBL a few weeks ago. Efforts to unseat the sitting administration just got VERY difficult.  GOTV is now MISSION CRITICAL, not just important.

3rd – I grow weary of the “hangers on”, the “wave riders”, the “passionately ignorant”, the “wait and seers”, the “oh it’s difficult, or that might disrupt my little comfortable world folks” AND ALL others that are content to sit around and move nothing but their lips. Running your mouth does little but feed plants.

4th – If you can’t go the distance, you are in the wrong class in this race. Go back to the registration desk and look for “Bench warmer” or “Whining Decathlon” or “Hot air balloon filler” races.

I guess that I risk offending some folks with my rhetoric.  I am watching 2012 play out long before the election and it seems that most folks are just ducky watching it go by.

If I have violated the code of good taste for this board, then I will certainly remove myself from it and the group. I am headed in a direction of permanent common sense reform at every level of government. I don’t have time to waste on making folks feel good about their lukewarm efforts and protecting fragile egos.

People, waiting for someone else to make things happen is what got us into this mess.

Years ago, I learned a phrase that may help classify your thoughts on what I wrote. “A hit dog will holler.”

July 28, 2011 — My Fellow Patriots

July 28, 2011

My fellow patriots,

I have mentioned a few times before in this forum and it is  worth repeating. TIME is the most precious resource we have. It is not renewable  and it is inflexible in its spending. Hesitation, inefficiency, red herrings,  etc. are the bane of time well spent.

I try hard not to tell people what to do, but often try to  make suggestions or pointed remarks for consideration. Here is one of the  pointed remarks for consideration: If you don’t stop wasting time, then soon  enough you will be told what to do and you will have few, if any, choices.

IMHO, a few efforts that will help us all are GOTV, and  local and state elective office and oversight. Getting out the vote is no longer  important. IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL. Only about 20% of registered voters do so.  That is 20% of all eligible voters. Somebody help with the math. What is a 1/5  of a 1/5? Is 1/25??? Stop wondering if your neighbor or co-worker or church  members vote. ASK THEM and encourage them to get engaged in the process. If you  think it is uncomfortable or inconvenient to do so, then flash forward a few  years and imagine that an OBAMA and FEDGOV left unchecked. How uncomfortable and  inconvenient will things be then?

To the folks who are advocating the overthrow of our  country and firing all the police and worried about who wasted some money on a  trip and what agency is involved in a conspiracy to secretly fund mushroom  armies — I have one simple question. How does that bullshit help us get to our  goal? Really? Go do something productive like helping people register to vote.  Help them get to the polls. Help at a rally. Help organize a fundraiser for a  good candidate. Help make calls to voting lists about upcoming elections.

To those who have a need to feel important; conspiracy  theories are fun and glorifying salacious incidents certainly will make you  sound big and bad and all knowledgeable. If you get off on hearing yourself talk  about hidden agendas and secret stories of corruption, greed and scandal, then  go do your mental masturbation somewhere else. That crap is a waste of time.

This particular paragraph is devoted to the ones who are in  the group in order to subvert it. Really? Go crawl back under the rock you came  out from under. You can’t face us head on, so you slither around like a snake.  Good job! You are exactly the kind of honest, integrity driven person I want to  call a friend. Go take a flying leap with the group I mention above.

Respectfully,

Robert A. Grier
