Here are a few thoughts:

1st – If we wait until the 2012 election season to get active again, then we are certain to lose. GOTV efforts should have started this month.

2nd – Justice was appropriately delivered to UBL a few weeks ago. Efforts to unseat the sitting administration just got VERY difficult.  GOTV is now MISSION CRITICAL, not just important.

3rd – I grow weary of the “hangers on”, the “wave riders”, the “passionately ignorant”, the “wait and seers”, the “oh it’s difficult, or that might disrupt my little comfortable world folks” AND ALL others that are content to sit around and move nothing but their lips. Running your mouth does little but feed plants.

4th – If you can’t go the distance, you are in the wrong class in this race. Go back to the registration desk and look for “Bench warmer” or “Whining Decathlon” or “Hot air balloon filler” races.

I guess that I risk offending some folks with my rhetoric.  I am watching 2012 play out long before the election and it seems that most folks are just ducky watching it go by.

If I have violated the code of good taste for this board, then I will certainly remove myself from it and the group. I am headed in a direction of permanent common sense reform at every level of government. I don’t have time to waste on making folks feel good about their lukewarm efforts and protecting fragile egos.

People, waiting for someone else to make things happen is what got us into this mess.

Years ago, I learned a phrase that may help classify your thoughts on what I wrote. “A hit dog will holler.”

June 16, 2011 — Choo-Choo Theory

In the absence of our regular discussions, I thought I  should post something. The board looked too empty…

Here is a picture I see. Every day the crowd wakes up on a  choo-choo that is going about 80 on a dirt road. The conductor (newly positioned  due to popularity) knows full well that the station is just ahead. When a  passenger questions the choice, the conductor is righteously indignant and fires  back that the path and choice must be right. There are several cognitively  neutered and scared “co-signers” who shout down the questioning passenger. The  conductor with newly reinforced credibility and support states calmly that the  course must be true because that is what we have been doing and besides he just  turned slightly, tooted the horn and increased the speed! He is working hard!  “Do you have any idea how difficult it is to drive a train through a forest?” he  shouts. The vehement expressions of surety and calmness sooth the fear of the  passengers. Tensions ease with the passengers reinforcing their corroboration  with a little justification with the fact that they have never driven a train  and feel that since he has for a minute it equals that 100% more experience than  they have, so they defer. The Lemming Express plunges off a cliff. The next  day’s headline reads, “Conductor a hero for saving lives of those not hit!”  Further in the paper the article reads, “Railroad sued for not laying track  through the forest and failure to post warning lights on the dirt road”.

Band-Aids are good for scrapes and minor cuts. Our society  is sick, broken and on that dirt road going 80 and we are concerned with getting  the Scooby-Doo Band-Aids and not the Spider Man. I see our profession (along  with educators and clergy) as the ones with the introspection, education and  theoretical wherewithal to demand the conductor step down so we can course  correct.

I am not talking about politics. I am talking about  foundations for the paths on which will travel. Progress cannot be simply  defined as moving in a direction that some think is right. What do we have to  show for our progress and choices?

Brother, the gravy train stops at ALMOST EVERY AMERICAN’S  DOOR these days! Take a hard look at ALL entitlements, subsidies, tax  exemptions, grants, bailouts and OF COURSE the cost of feeding the beast which  is bureaucracy. The socialists have ensured that the FEDGOV has everybody’s  fingers in it somehow. Since everybody is getting a “cut”, then nobody has the  fortitude to stop. Generations of “something for nothing” will end with a new  flag if WE DON’T STOP THIS STUPIDITY! Call it what you will, but the USA is a  slave to its own greed and increasingly, we will be a slave to China, and the  others that we owe all of this money to.

Want to drive the train down a dirt road? Then keep on  supporting mentality like “everybody is a winner” and bending over forwards to  ensure that no one is inconvenienced or offended. AND if you don’t think that  little actions and choices each day don’t matter OR things are too much trouble  to bother, then kilo mike alpha and Delta is ready when you are.

My fellow patriots,

I have mentioned a few times before in this forum and it is  worth repeating. TIME is the most precious resource we have. It is not renewable  and it is inflexible in its spending. Hesitation, inefficiency, red herrings,  etc. are the bane of time well spent.

I try hard not to tell people what to do, but often try to  make suggestions or pointed remarks for consideration. Here is one of the  pointed remarks for consideration: If you don’t stop wasting time, then soon  enough you will be told what to do and you will have few, if any, choices.

IMHO, a few efforts that will help us all are GOTV, and  local and state elective office and oversight. Getting out the vote is no longer  important. IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL. Only about 20% of registered voters do so.  That is 20% of all eligible voters. Somebody help with the math. What is a 1/5  of a 1/5? Is 1/25??? Stop wondering if your neighbor or co-worker or church  members vote. ASK THEM and encourage them to get engaged in the process. If you  think it is uncomfortable or inconvenient to do so, then flash forward a few  years and imagine that an OBAMA and FEDGOV left unchecked. How uncomfortable and  inconvenient will things be then?

To the folks who are advocating the overthrow of our  country and firing all the police and worried about who wasted some money on a  trip and what agency is involved in a conspiracy to secretly fund mushroom  armies — I have one simple question. How does that bullshit help us get to our  goal? Really? Go do something productive like helping people register to vote.  Help them get to the polls. Help at a rally. Help organize a fundraiser for a  good candidate. Help make calls to voting lists about upcoming elections.

To those who have a need to feel important; conspiracy  theories are fun and glorifying salacious incidents certainly will make you  sound big and bad and all knowledgeable. If you get off on hearing yourself talk  about hidden agendas and secret stories of corruption, greed and scandal, then  go do your mental masturbation somewhere else. That crap is a waste of time.

This particular paragraph is devoted to the ones who are in  the group in order to subvert it. Really? Go crawl back under the rock you came  out from under. You can’t face us head on, so you slither around like a snake.  Good job! You are exactly the kind of honest, integrity driven person I want to  call a friend. Go take a flying leap with the group I mention above.

It is unfortunate  that the current administration has created so many painful wounds on topics  that should be addressed. Healthcare, immigration, quality of life, jobs, family  and more have been forced and bungled so badly that I am afraid it will be a  while before anyone will want to talk rationally and productively about the  issues.
